March 2017 Passive Income Apps Report $19,673.68

This is officially the first passive income apps report posted on this blog! Hope there will be more. The goal of these app passive income reports is to hold myself accountable for all the projects I am currently working on. They’re also to show that people can still make money from the app store today despite all of the naysayers saying the app market is completely saturated. It’s more competitive yes, but it’s still possible even in 2017.

March 2017 App Passive Income Report $19,673.68Finding The $weet $pot For App Pricing

All of those orange circles in the above screenshot are events. Each event I noted for March were related to app price changes. I’ve been trying to find the sweet spot for pricing each of my apps. My results were pretty consistent.

  • Every time I raised the app price, the overall revenue went up.
  • Every time I lowered it, the overall revenue went down.

This is not always the case since lowering the app price will drive more downloads and hopefully give your app more visibility as you climb the app ranks. This however didn’t work out so well for my own portfolio.

Plans For April

I released an app in January that I’ve been trying to stick in the top 10 ranking for it’s category. It’s been tough, but it has a perfect 5 star average with over 100 ratings/reviews which tells me there’s a good chance I can make it stick. I have a few promos lined up with a couple guys I’ve worked with in the past in April. They have decent sized email lists and we discount the app and they blast their list. It works 100% of the time on breathing new life into the ranking of the app, but it doesn’t always have the app stick. I lined up the promos back to back this time to give it a boost for an entire week in hopes of it having a better result. I’ll report back.
